Opened in 1989 and owned and operated by the City of Winston-Salem, the 15,000 seat Coliseum fills its event calendar with Wake Forest University men's and women's basketball, concerts, family shows, tennis, rodeo, dinners, conventions, and more!

Flexible design offers a variety of seating and stage options to efficiently accommodate many types of performances. "It's a well designed facility," said Dame. "We have a curtain system which we adjust depending on the event. "The building is laid out well. You can load in and out very easily."

To accommodate its varied event schedule, the Coliseum was designed by Ellerbe Becket, Inc., with large concourses a barrel-vaulted lobby for receptions and special events, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

Concessions in the Coliseum are managed by Aramark Sports & Entertainment Services. The concession stands offer everything from hot dogs and french fries, to ice cream, popcorn, and candy. The new Food Court is also available for select events as well. Choose from local specialty vendors such as Little Richards BBQ, Dominos Pizza, Chef Don's Gisele Fine Foods, Hero House, and more. All catering requirements are handled by our in house catering department.

Backstage offices feature press rooms, production offices and general meeting rooms. The Coliseum is fully accessible to the handicapped and has paved parking for over 5,000 vehicles.
